Are people with BIID merely wannabes?
At first glance, it would appear as if it is so.
Wannabes want to have the said condition, likewise with people with biid.
I think I'll define wannabes as people who want the impairment for no other reasons then just that, a want, and by extension this does not include people with biid.
But I think that is where the similarities end, and the differences begin.
Merely simple wannabes (without biid) aren't usually consumes with an all consuming desire to have or acquire said impairment in everything they do.
Yes that last statement was purposefully vague but it can be taken in both sense that they want the impairment in everything they do, and that they have the desire invade their thought with everything they do.
People with biid seem to have that.
Wannabes are usually quelled with just the occasional pretending here and there.
For people with biid, the occasional pretending here and there does anything but cement the desire to actually have the desired impairment.
For people with biid, it seems that at sometimes, say in the middle of the night, they actual feel as if they actually have the impairment needed and sometimes actually act upon it, not only at night but sometime during they day. I haven't heard such reports from wannabes.
I think I could go on, and maybe even write a book about the differences, but I think the main gist of thing is graspable.
So I propose we don't apply the term wannabes to people with biid, but instead use need-to-bes or needabes as those are more descriptive of the issues with biid.
